Talking The Ruben Brown Motorcycle Run 2008 PICS!!!

It was another AWESOME year for the run. We all had a great time, regardless of the weather. There were some very serious storms in the area, so a few of us held up at a small pub in Woodstock and let the worst go by.

We initially pulled out with about 50-60 bikes, and we were up front. It was pretty cool looking in the rear view mirror and seeing a sea of head lights behind.

Then, all of a sudden....they were gone!
We're like "WTF?....where did everybody go?"

Turns out we were following the wrong crowd! They had no intention of actually going on the run. They just showed up to see what was going on!

.........

So, we pulled over, and headed back to hook up with the group.
Of course, we never did catch up with them. The weather was terrible, and we seriously doubted that they were going to try to make it to Elk Horn, Wisconsin. The weather was even worse up there with Tornado warnings all over the place.
We rode around the storm for a while and then right smack into it to get to Galt Airport...where the the "run" was to finish. But when we finally got to Galt Airport, they were telling us that it had been moved to D.C. Cobbs, in Woodstock.
Apparently, Galt Airport had all the tents blown away...including the stage for the bands!

"D.C. Cobbs" is a relatively small bar for 500, or so, bikes to show up at.
But, we did. And it was AWESOME!!! As were the bands! Every one of them were just world class.
Ruben was awesome also. He spent the entire day mingling with everyone. Buy the time the day was over, you left there feeling like you just made a great new best friend.

Ruben is definitely a class act.

Once again...I can't wait for next year!......

Oh yeah....speaking of "class acts".....I finally got to meet our very own VMX12!!!....GREAT GUY!

I was hoping we would hook up again sometime during the day.
He, and his friend, had disappeared momentarily, and the next thing I new my group was getting antsy and wanted to get on the road, and were all pulling out.
Of course we (Joyce and I) pulled out with them, and I never seen VMX again.

I hope they were safe, and had a good time where ever they wound up....

And, I also ran into BearsFanGlenn!

That is one seriously cool guy!....just wait till you see the pics.

Well, the day turned out to be a total bust for us. We left Woodstock Harley, saw a nasty storm moving in and decided to stop at my sister’s house to wait it out. Two minutes from her house we got dumped on. About 11 we found out “ Educating Karen” my friends band, was bumped because of the weather. Me, my friend Michelle and brother-in-law took off for Galt Airport only to find out it was moved to the bar. No one else wanted to go since we were drenched so I said f*ck it and called it a day. What a shame. Oh well there is always next year. It was cool meeting Gzan, maybe I’ll ride with you guys next year. Seems like a cool group.

That sucks.

Sorry you didn't get the day your were hoping for, but a bad day riding is better than a good day at work.

What a Blast!!!! It was great seeing you again Guitarzan-54, What a day! Since I no longer ride ( a promise to my mother) a bike, I volunteered for the run. So I was at Galt airport at 8, we set up all the table and chairs, and most of the vendors booths when the first storm hit. We weathered it pretty good by staying under tents. But when the second storm came through, that was different it blew the tents down along the all the bands equip. and just about everything else. That's when Robin decided this was not going to happen and decided we would just have it at d.c cobbs in Woodstock, since that is were a good portion of the riders took cover for the storm. But like Guitarzan-54 said from that point on it was great, When I first walked in and ruben saw me and say's hey Glenn you made it. ( that mad my day) he remember me by name. I sure hope that he does it again next year, if so I'll be there!!!!!!
