ahh yes,, blank's "i'm sorry vick screwed the franchise and we have a 1/2 empty stadium" in 2007, so i'll cut teh nosebleeds in endzone to $250 from $400 for just this year because we can't sell seats after the vick debable..

and we still cant sell even those out..

most of teh lower seats MORE expensive in atlanta than chicago
$123.00/seat for lower bowl

Hmmmm

No comments = sometimes I actually do know what I'm talking about.

As a fan spending money on the Bears, I have a right to know why the only position on offense that is solidified...is the TE position. We have 3 people competing for the starting LG position, a rookie RB that is still a ?. We are being forced to try and use Hester as a WR when we all know he's an Antwan Randle-El type. He's too small, defenders already know he's going to try and by them, and we don't have a QB to throw to him anyways. That leaves us with Booker and ??.

The only team with more questions on offense going into camp are the Denver Broncos and Atlanta Falcons(who at least have a proven RB).

It was Halas that set aside the money for that title. That was his last gift to the fans from his death bed. And the McCaskey's screwed it up by being too cheap to retain Wilbur Marshall etc. We should have won 3 titles back in the 80's.

well as hals died in 1983 and jbefore his death first jim finks had run the team in late 70's and did all teh drafting for teh great 80's players and then jerry vianasi was the GM.. i'm not so sure how halas 2 years after his death can claim that champsionship..
and as a fan you have "zero" rights.. you can wonder..but being a fan carries NO RIGHTS..

Well, when the Bears can only win 3 games a year, and have no hope of being decent any time soon, the prices will drop.

>>>i'm not so sure how halas 2 years after his death can claim that champsionship.>>>

I already know you cannot answer that question...he set aside aside $$ in his will to fund the championship run. I was privy to information back then you don't have.

>>>but being a fan carries NO RIGHTS..

Sure it does, we have a right not to spend $$.

Those receivers played a LOT more of the position in college. I am reminded of that play by Hester last year in which the ball bounced off of his left shoulder pad. What happens if Hester gets hurt?....we lose a TON of ST field position without him returning kicks/punts.

so now its NOT SIZE, but experience? hmm intersting..

and hals set money aide HAD ZERO to do with teh champsionship. but havign to do with what any business owner of any busines he owns.. Had zero to do with the champsionship, sorry

And if you want to PM me I'll talk more about what was in his "will" as while I do not talk about it- I actually have done work and estate planning for some of the kids and know exactly what was in the will and the generation skipping trust, which is where the "money set aside" actually went to FWIW

and yes you have 'right" to not spend money, but zero rights as said on who plays and where and when

Don't know where the money was dispersed...

I only know it was moved. Apparently you do though...considering you personally handled a portion of the Halas Estate.

And yes, I do feel experience matters, both on and off of the field. Hester's not going to be running past defenders, which means he'll need to learn to read D's. It's a completely different animal...and a risky one as well.

Thumbs up

Heres what fans from other boards say :

divided right down the middle... ____________________________________________ _

Ranks the owners with the McCaskeys @ 26. I think that's high, with lil Mikey sticking his pencil neck in. Long way to go to get up to inept. Totally different org if Muggs had lived. That greasy weasel is foul.
__________________________________________________ __________

Our ownership and front office certainly aren't as clueless as the Cardinals, Bengals, Raiders or Lions. And Mikey Snyder is for shit as an owner even though the Skins manage to win games.

The bigger problem is that I'm afraid if you told the McCrapsky's they were ranked #26, they'd be OK with that. In any organization, a culture of mediocrity starts at the top.
__________________________________________________ ________

I just can't get to riled up against the McCaskey family these days. The Bears appear to spend up to the salary cap limits yearly and other than Berrian I can't think of a quality player leaving the organization because of financial reasons.

McCaskey doesn't draft players, doesn't sign FAs, and doesn't coach the team.

I'm not saying I support the ownership I just don't have a strong opinion either way - they appear to be pretty much in the background as of late.
__________________________________________________ ___________

The McCaskeys made the decision in 1999 to stay out of the football operations by promoting Tedd Phillips to President and hiring a GM.

Other than building the best training complex/team Headquarters in the NFL, building a new state of the art stadium (you can bash the city for the "spaceship" concept as they imposed requirements to keep the outter walls and columns intact, not the Bears), spending up to the cap limit each year, giving Lovie an extension that makes him among the highest paid NFL coaches, etc........what exactly have the McCaskeys done to piss everyone off?

About the only thing you can really give them grief for recently is a failure to implement the highest level of accountability in the organization by keeping Angelo since 2001. But even that is flimsy. Angelo's career record with the Bears is 60-52 with 3 division championships and a Superbowl on his resume. There are many other NFL organizations who wouldn't fire a GM with those credentials.

__________________________________________________ ___________

The culture has improved the past few years, no question, and is miles removed from the Dark Ages of Wanny, et al. But still a long ways to go, especially in the area of demanding accountability as Amazin noted. Saying your club is better run than the Cardinals, Raiders and Lions is like saying your girlfriend is hotter than Rosie O'Donnell, Ellen DeGeneres and Roseanne Barr.
__________________________________________________ ___________

Demanding accountability is tough talk. I guess it means you want all the coaches fired a year after going to the SB.

What would you guys do if we had ownership like Jerry Jones? He goes out and signs thugs and malcontents like Terrell Owens, Tank and Pacman and has built arguably the most talented team in the NFC.
__________________________________________________ __________

I agree, I think the McCaskets are pretty much background material these days. These reporters have nothing to report, so they come with these "rankings"..

None are Jackies comments...just posts from Bears fans.

I didn't think the McCaskeys would rate this high?
