I'm not buying the 'there's no video, so the cops are automatically guilty of brutality' line, either. Yes, there are crooked cops that think they're above the law, but there are also ones (more so than not) that do their job in accordance with the law.
It's quite possible that Benson was being a drunk ASS. Is that so hard for people to believe?

Again there is probably somewhere in the middle. He had definately been drinking(no guarantee he was drunk) probably got iritated and mouthy by being boarded...again(6 out of 6 times) is not only unlikely but almost unheard of if you have ever boated for any length of time...
The cops used this to take him to land, where an unrealeted eyewitness said the cops kicked out his legs, drug him up the dock, put him on his back, and pepper sprayed him(he was handcuffed btw). The pepper spray explains why he looks the way he does in his booking picture.
To me it sounds like they baited him, and he bit, that's both their fault, but ultimately as a high paid athlete he should have shut his trap and called his lawyer to file a complaint and none of this would have happened.

And you have the facts? Where you there? No, so to ASSume he was 'innocent/ not drunk' is nonsense. Benson's no saint (who is) and this wasn't his first brush with the law. People get drunk, get rowdy no matter who's around. And is 'hand in different circles'?

But saying on THIS DAY, with his mom and eyewitnesses saying he wans't drunk the booking video showing him sober and walking fine.. the eyewitness saying the cops kicked out his legs and dragged him to teh car.. tells me a different story.

I have seen people do the most absurd things in various situations throughout my travels, living in different big cities and while I was in the Air Force, so nothing surprises me much. That may sound jaded, well so be it. I'm not ready to hang the cops out to dry when a person has a past with run-ins with the law. I'm willing to give Cedric the benefit of the doubt, but so too with the police.

I hear ya!... and nothing suprises me either,and you could be right, but i'll tell you I'm no saint -and in my early 20's was pretty wild and indestructible, BUt when around my mom i did act different and alot less wild.. maybe its a "guy" thing.. as to why giving him the benefit of doubt

I want PROOF; get your mom on here... I guess I can understand that guys are a bit more empathetic of Benson's situation, since it's guys that are more than likely getting 'roughed up' by the police (although women can be/are victims of police misconduct, too). I didn't think Mama Benson was on the boat at the time of his arrest.
I just hope it gets sorted out and handled soon. the less distractions this ball club has, the BETTER!
