| | | So far, the Bears have been more proactive on the free agent front... at least compared to last season.

but he can brake tackles unlike Ben$on...getting pissed off with seeing Ben$on's 4 yard run's then fall over after the first hit.

| | | This seems to be the place for a comment on at least one off-season move.
I think the Marty Booker signing was a good one. I may rather have had Bryant for his potential and youth but since we already have those bases covered what we really needed was to replace Moose's vet leadership and Booker fits the bill for a lot less money and with no real loss in the quality of what we can expect from the role in this offense.
One major factor, I believe, is that Marty WANTED to come back to Chicago. In fact he never wanted to leave to begin with but he graciously accepted the trade like the pro he is. I think he's going to surprise some fans with what he'll do now that he's back to a place I think he feels is "home".
We now have both Ogun (who appears to be returning to form) and Booker so over the course of a couple of years this deal has cost nothing but a 3rd round pick.
I don't believe we're getting the old 100 catch 1000 yd + WR of old but we are getting a very dependable team player who can run precise routes and has great hands. He's our go to, stick mover kind of guy. It will be up to Bradley and Hester to prove that they can combine to put the big play scores on the board but I think Marty will still be a guy they look to in the red-zone as will Hass. In my mind he may be the real "diamond in the rough".

. | a guy from one of my other forums got to talk to Booker at the Dolphins/Giants game in London,he said he wouldnt mind coming back to Da Bears....so it could have been on the cards way back then.

| | | Is it feasible to utilize this thread for all draft information etc.?...it's a bit time consuming and confusing to weed through similar off-season threads.
Just a thought! | | | |
