Most important # in Chicago Sports

Here's a fun little game I thought up this afternoon....make a case for the most important # in Chicago sports like so:

1. the number
2. your rationale for why it's significant

I'll start:

1. #23

2. This one's a no-brainer: Michael Jordan for the Bulls, Devin Hester for the Bears, and Ryne Sandberg for the Cubs (even though I'm not really a Cubs fan).

See if you can be more creative than I am!

Good Luck!

#34 Greatest Football player to ever play the game. When he retired he didn't hold his team ransom over his decisions. He said 1987 would be his last year unlike some pill popping pussy that like to cry like a little girl.

Out of all 5 pro Chicago sports teams, the numbers 3, 4, and 23 are the only ones retired by more then one team (each are retired by 2 a piece, 23 for the Cubs and Bulls, 3 for the Bears and sox, and 4 for the Bulls and Sox).

But i would say "23" is more associated with Chiago then any other number, particularly because of Michael Jordan, its the reason why every kid playing basketball (including Lebron james) fight over those #23 jerseys on their teams. And a list of 23s like Sandberg (retired number for the Cubs), Jordan, Hester, Dye and Robin Ventura, only add to the mythology of it. If Hester's career continues the way it is, you can bet that the #23 will be the only number retired by 3 Chicago teams
