| | | LSU Tigers thread Come on Shady, let's talk about our team that sure looked like a National Championship contender tonight, as they pasted VA Tech 48-7!!! GEAUX TIGERS!!!!!! WHOOOOOO-HOOOOOO!!!
USC is going to lose some more first place votes this week...even though they had a bye, how can anyone look at their win last week and look at LSU this week and NOT say that LSU is the #1 team in the country? Still, I'd rather be #2 and have a slightly smaller target on my back.
Man, I miss those days at Tiger Stadium! What I wouldn't do to cram into that student section again for a big TIGER PARTY! There's no louder place on earth; my ears would ring for days after a game.
We are LOOKIN' GOOD! But we can't get overconfident; Saban will be out for blood with Alabama this year... GEAUX TIGERS!!!!!!!!!

| | Well, as you can imagine I've got more than one reason to want to see us top 'Bama this year!!!
Won't comment on the performance yet though as I haven't seen the game yet but sounds like another strong performance. As you say, there's a lot to being #2 - #1 is a helluva target and a helluva lot of pressure to carry...
but we can take it!!!

| | | After the way my Saints played yesterday, all I can say is...
Thank you, God, for my TIGERS!!!!!!!!
The rankings are ticking me off, however. The media is such a group of USC homers, it makes me ill. LSU has shut out two mediocre opponents (45-0; 44-0); USC has beaten one (38-10). LSU beat the #9 team 44-7; USC beat the #14 team 49-31. Who should be #1?
Unfortunately the way the polls work, the #1 team simply has to win to hold onto that spot. They don't necessarily have to actually be the best team playing...I wouldn't really care since only the BCS polls count for the NC game and they're not out yet, but the other polls do come into play, officially and unofficially, in figuring the BCS rankings, and there suddenly seems to be a big push for OU and I don't want to see LSU bumped to #3 when USC shouldn't be up at #1. Well, all LSU has to do is keep winning convincingly; USC's future opponents are starting to drop out of the rankings, while LSU is gaining future ranked opponents. That just might convince some voters...but I doubt it. The love affair with USC is too great.
GEAUX TIGERS!!!!!!!!!!

| | | As a former Auburn Tiger, all I can say is... ugh. As long as we get #6 in a row over Bama I'll survive.

| | | Well Prima, an ugly win is still a win. But the Tigers can't afford a first half performance like that against Florida next week, or anyone the rest of the season TBH. At least they got the rocket up their collective butts that they needed at half time!

GEAUX TIGERS!!! | Well, if they were going to have a game like this (and it's inevitable for any team), this was the time to have it, so they can work on those mistakes before Florida. Still, if Flynn is still hurting like he obviously was, they'd better put in Perrilloux sooner. Perpahs that's why we didn't see him much...Miles was confident we'd get the win, and he didn't want to give FL too much film on Perrilloux?
Plus, Tulane/LSU is a looooong rivalry; they stopped scheduling each other several years ago, and honestly it was the interruption of a great tradition. Rivalries like this can go either way, regardless of the ranking. Tulane has a talented coach, too...he's done a great job with that program.
Did you notice how the announcers kept mentioning the last time LSU lost to Tulane many years ago, after the Tigers had already been invited to the Orange Bowl? I was at that game; that was my freshman year at LSU. I was getting flashbacks to that game during the first half today!!! But really, except for VTech, the Tigers have had slow starts in all of their games. I hope they come out against FL like they did against VTech -- we can't expect to make the mistakes we did today and get out with a win. PENALTIES, especially pre-snap penalties, were a huge culprit today. It was hard to establish the run when you were starting 1st and 15 or 1st and 20. Plus, Flynn was simply not mobile today, and hung onto the ball too long.
Next week has me real nervous, that's for sure! And with OU losing, FL is surely #3...it's definitely the premiere game next weekend, no doubt about it. Thankfully it's in Tiger Stadium...and at NIGHT!! There's magic in that stadium on a Saturday night. Nothing like it, believe me.
A win is a win! All we have to do is keep winning...and with 3 of our next 4 opponents ranked, it won't be easy. Gee, how can USC honestly say they have a tougher schedule..????
GEAUX TIGERS!!!!!!!!!

| | C'mon Azzie!!! Where's all the confidence ahead of Saturday?
Let's get this thread rockin again! Florida coming to the house!
"Iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii'm comin up so you better get his party started!"
I'm buzzing about this game. I think this could be the one that starts to get people thinking about who should be #1 this year. May not change the vote but if it at least opens a few eyes then so much the better.

GEAUX TIGERS!!!! | I'm so ready for this game. I'm nervous, but I have a feeling we'll win. I am incredibly jealous of my sister and her husband...his brother has season tickets and cannot make this game (busy campaigning for re-election as a state rep), so they are on their way right now to Tiger Stadium...
When LSU was in the NC game in the Sugar Bowl in 2004, they had tickets through her father in law (on the Sugar Bowl committee), and she gave me her ticket, since I'm the LSU grad in the family. I'm already working on her for this year, LOL! That was the second greatest football game I ever attended...

Wow, what a game. I couldn't even get that hyped for the Saints game today; I was still wiped out from LSU's game last night. Good thing...as far as the Saints' season is going, I can only say....thank you God, for LSU.
Undisputed #1, baby!!!!!!! But the schedule doesn't get any easier....any team in the SEC has a shot at an in-conference upset; it's been happening every week. And now LSU has a huge target on their backs....
But I'm still enjoying that win. How 'bout our Tigers, Shady?????

GEAUX TIGERS!!!! | Hey, it was one hell of a game, I'll admit that. In spite of our loss I'm not ashamed of our team and the way we played; Tim Tebow IMHO needs to shoulder some of the blame for this one due to those two mistakes he made in the 4th quarter that cost us our chance at winning this one out.
Hey, ya'll gave us a challenge and it wasn't an easy win for the Tigers, either.
USC lost, so that gives y'all the #1 slot in the polls right now.
