Football is the ultimate team sport. one man does not wreck a team. sure grossman has played bad but can you blame him? i lost count of the total drops from berrian and muhammad. HORRIBLE. i mean they didnt give much help either. the run game just wasnt there. we need to work on our overall offense. not just rex. this isnt madden were you can just click start and sub the QB. a QB change is a big thing. its not as simple as many people think. we lost because we cant just rely on our D and S.T. to win games. when we play good teams like the boys' you need full cooperation from all 3 teams. What happens when the D cant stop a Very good offense or our S.T. cant get good field position. You loose games if you dont have the offensive power. sure Defense wins ships' but you cant give no credit to the offense and S.T. if that was 100% true we would have DEVOURED the colts in the Super Bowl. We dont need to play Griese or Orton. We dont need to kill Grossman. We need to play CHICAGO STYLE FOOTBALL on offense. we took a risk by letting go of jones, we cant bring him back. so stop talking about him hes gone live with it. we have a very talented Runningback in Benson. he might not be playing like that now. but let him get in his rhytim and watch him go. People Its about to be Week 4! we still have 13 more games to go. RELAX. Grossman will bounce back...let me rephrase that. the WHOLE OFFENSE WILL BOUNCE BACK. wait till olsen gets healthy.

Actually you can replace a QB at any time. Look at Arizona. They took out Lienart (!@#$% cant spell his name when im half asleep) and put Warner in. And I believe that Lienart is far better then Grossman. Would you not agree?

sense Grossman was drafted his career average passer rating is 69.3

sense Griese was drafted his career average passer rating is 84.5

is Griese the answer to all of our problems? hell no. however, at this point should we atleast give him a chance? hell yes. whats the worst that could happen? after 3 games he could have 1 TD and 6 INTs. oh wait, Grossman already has that.

I posted this in one of the threads in the main football forum, but I invite comments on this article I wrote:

As I See It: What's the matter with Rex Grossman? (click on the title to access the link)

Rex needs to step it up, or else think about another team to play for where he may be a better fit. Read my article, and I'll tell you why I think he should think about playing elsewhere.

That, and perhaps the Bears should think about another QB in the draft. Don't get me wrong, I'm still like the kid, but he needs to clean up his act.

Griese isn't the long-term answer to the Bear's issues; he's nowhere NEAR the QB his father was. If he was that good, he would have kept his job in Denver to begin with and not have been run out of town like he was.

Orton held his own as a rookie and gave it his best shot, but he's not the answer either. True we won with Orton in 2005 until Rex returned, but we weren't relly generating any offense when he was starting.

Not just Rex, but the whole TEAM - and I emphasize that word because football isn't just about the quarterback, it's about the TEAM - looked like shit on Sunday night. There was no excuse for Berrian to be dropping catchable balls, and he didn't do Rex any justice. That one fake FG attempt by Robbie Gould was poorly executed, that fumble by Benson was costly, the O-line broke down way too many times, and our defense was missing too many tackles, Brian Urlacher included.

It's true that it's early in the season, but already Rex has left a bad taste in many mouths. I hope we can bounce back and Rex can perhaps prove the skeptics wrong if he starts against Detroit, but he has a huge monkey on his back to shake off right now. He can choose to sink or swim, and I hope he decides to save his own life and swim for his sake and the sake of his team.

I have to disagree, Griese is not the answer. Orton has already won 10 games in a season for us and deserves a shot to be the starter again.

The best Rex is an Ex. I'm leaning towards Orton. He's not a flashy guy, but he did get the job done.

Rex has a very good winning percentage as starter.

And how dare you say Orton WON those games, but Rex did not win his. Both were greatly assisted by the defense. Orton did nothing to help them win.

I'm just going to have to believe they are on the depth chart the way they are for a reason.Maybe it's because Griese doesn't gargle with Jack Daniels, unless he decided to sober up since last year.

Agreed; I'd prefer to see Orton as well.

I don't like Griese at all, but Orton did the best he could under the circumstances at the time; for a rookie to be thrust into the starting lineup with no real playing experience in the pros was a huge challenge but he handled himself well. It was on account of our having as strong a defense as we did at the time that carried us through the 2005 season and resulted in our winning all those games. I give Orton credit where credit is due.

stop saying Orton got the job done. Its sickening. He "led" the team to those wins in 05' but the defense won inspite of Rex in 06'? give me a !@#$ing break
